This table is my own design, and is something I’ve thought about making for years. It took quite a bit of refining to get the design just right. I made quite a few drawings, 5 or so scale models, and 2 full-sized prototypes out of MDF before building the final project.

I was influenced by Sam Maloof, at least in terms of his organic shapes. But, I don’t copy anybody else’s designs, I only make original pieces of furniture.

It’s made of walnut and ebony. The top is book matched, and is 2” thick. It’s about 50” long and 29” wide.

Beautiful design and flawless execution. I really like the ebonu accents on the legs. May I ask you how you joined the 4 feet in the center ?

Vey much an IN design feature down here in Western Australia on Jarrah and Marri slab tables. Great undercarriage.

Great looking table! I really like the curved legs and how they join in the middle. And the ebony on the legs is a nice addition.

Thanks for everyone’s nice comments. The center joint is a lap joint, just at an odd angle.

This is a beautiful tale! I’m looking to do something similar, my only question is how did you attach the legs to the top?

Have your say...
