walnut hollow form with white oak cap

this walnut hollow form is 7 inchs tall with the cap and 5 inchs across, the walls are about 1/4 inch thick, sanded to 400 grit and finished with beeswax.

the vessel is fine the top is a bit chunky,better make another slimmer my 2cents

I think the vessel has a lot of character, and is beautiful by itself. However I agree with peruturner the top leaves a little to be desired.

I like your pieces, but leaving them without finish or just using bees wax doesn’t do them justice. Some oil finish or even a friction would really make the wood grain pop.

cindy drozda makes the best finials,of course has years at it ,but is worth looking at hers pieces on the web,just put that name and enjoy the pieces and remember is all practice ,I my self seldom make them (lack of tools and pacience)lol

Roper, Another fine turning. The vesel shape is great and love the “bad” spot in the wall.

I do have to agree with the others, A high shine on this would really make the grain pop. My last few pieces have been sanded to 400 grit then use white diamond and friction to polish them up. It helps the grain to stand out and still leaves the natural feel of the wood. Just my opinion.

Also think the top is a little chunky but it works for me on this shape of piece.
