Hi guys, finally got it thru my thick head with the help of another Jok. Here R some pictures of the lathe extension I made for my lathe. Also some tools I made, and of course the wood knobs I made for the tail stock wheel. If any of U R interested, I can put some more on. I previously had a mini lathe with a small motor. I got this Jet at Woodcrafters in San Antonio. It was on Sale for less that $500- as I recall. It has 6 different pulley sizes and also variable speed. The motor never gets hot. I have bored large holes in some vases I have made.

Nice thick angle iron there. Looks very solid indeed. Why did you put 2 knobs on the tailstock?

Hi Rich,
Nice work on the bed extension, I have the “Factory” extension from Jet and like both the little lathe and the extension I purchased separately. I caught mine on sale at a WoodCraft store here in Connecticut. For the money the little lathe is hard to beat. I have a couple of metalworking lathes and am an amatuer machinist so I am somewhat familiar with tolerances and “Setup” of these machines. They are far more accurate than needed for woodworking, great “Mass” and weight to keep the thing planted. Got to love that Cast Iron in machine tools..My next project for it is going to be a ball cutting jig out of MDO and angle iron. Already sketched it up , just need to build it!
