Why is this the safest vanity- see pic 3. This project was a commission piece to a customer who is active in the gun community. The problem in a closed in small ½ bath; and you are sitting ….; and you need quick access to your firearm; in this example 357mag pocket pistol is quickly available. Also there is the option of a false front. Euro style cabinet and the substrate is Panolam a professional grade of thermo fused melamine. I have used this stuff for over 15 years 5 star product. Hardware; Salice. The Darkend Bronze top is a metalic coating covering the substrate “Medex” which is a professional grade of outdoor MDF. The finishing method for the coating is the same for “wood” Poly build up with care into the “rub out” ( for this projeject I tried a ‘Wood Whisper method”) I have proven success in the Southwestern climate so I brought this into the bathroom. The “white’ fixtures are high quality acrylic. You, may question is it durable and my answer is Yes. As a former cabinet maker “Water will kill”

Beautiful vanity. Crisp and clean. And smart too, it’s no good to you if you can’t get to it if you need it. Great job.

farmerdude- that is his reasoning. From what I hear there are Viet Nam Veterns who have experienced a “brother” being shot while “going to the bathroom”. I don’t ask questions; but I know from experience how hard it is to capture your pocket pistol from your trousers; especially if they are down at your ankles…

Interesting. What holds the “drawer front” on? Is it “child proof” ?

JoeinGa, Thank you for your interest re Child Safety- This is a quick access “cubby” for his pocket pistol. When he needs to sit; he has quick access to his gun. When he is finished; He will remove the pistol. No pistol left for anyone. The false front is secured with magnets. Therefore, remove and use it or leave it on. As a cabinet maker I give my clients what they want.

Why not just lay the pocket gun on the countertop when taking care of business?

Why not? Don’t trolls sit on counter tops? Thank you so much for your needless input.
