A new box design I created using double bevel seven degree sides and I like how it tuned out .
The tray is extra deep to accommodate larger items and the lift handle is designed to compliment the exterior .
Hinges are SOSS 10 mm barrel hinges which are a bit large to fit in a box side that is just less then 1/2” but it worked out .
The size is appox. 10”W x 6 1/24” D x 4 3/4 ” H
Material used are hard maple and American walnut which makes a beautiful color combination and gives it a quiet elegance and contemporary look . The tray and interior bottom are lined with a deep brown velvet cloth sown to poster board backing .

Thanks for taking the time to view this post and comments and critiques are welcome .

Looking at the dimensions and the box. To me The box seems taller than 4 1/2 inches in relation to the 10 inch width? Good example of thinking outside your own box.

You are right of course about the color contrast and just as right about the design – excellent

Very handsome design and material selection. The hidden feet create an interesting shadow line.
That would look good in a larger scale like a blanket chest too.

Klaus apparently I was looking at a side picture, and not the front. LOL!

I can see that happening
There are six sides to this box (top, bottom, front ,back, left and right ) which can be confusing .LOL
