October, 2009—This box measures about 5-inches in all directions. It was made from a glue up of pine scraps from my workshop. It’s a thrill to see old “junk” wood turned into something nice. I applied a few coats of wipe-on satin poly. The handle is from my junk pile of things. I believe it was a decoration on a long-gone toy or something. I painted it pink and doweled it in place with wood glue. I had fun making this one.

I might have to copy this design, if you don’t mind. I have a niece who loves little places to put her treasures, and the pink flower handle would be perfect. Very nice use of scraps!
