After seeing Roger’s post of some cornhole boards he made, I thought I should also post some that I made. Given I’ve moved from Kentucky to Kansas, my theme is — well — pretty typical for this part of the country. I made these as a donation for an auction held by the Cancer Council of Reno County. I can’t take all the credit because my daughter painted the logos on the boards — I just built them. I made these as close as I could to the official standards of the American Cornhole Association which requires them to be 48” long and 24” wide with the top made from 1/2” plywood. So I made them from 1/2” birch plywood. The sides and legs were made from poplar. My daughter painted them with some enamel paint and then top-coated with water-based poly. (The last photo shows them before she painted them.)

Impressive artwork. Nice clean lines on the boards too. What is the rule regarding trademark infringement when making these boards ? (the short answer)

Thanks, snowgoer. I’ll pass your kudos (and Ken’s) on to my painter daughter. I spoke to a lawyer about using these logos. While it’s technically infringement, we both thought it was unlikely they’d pursue anything since we did this as a donation to a worthwhile charity. Now, if I made more and tried to sell them… that’s another story.

Thanks, Ken. And congrats to your cousin.
