I built a desk for my office with a live edge Red Oak Top, White Oak face frames, and curly white oak drawer fronts with a live edge. I really like how this project turned out. I used cabinet construction for the base.

I made a video about it here: A Desk for the Office

I like the desk very much.

I even like the old underwood! careful of what lube you use on it; as the wrong one will cause the platen to swell and render the machine useless! I worked on some of them 40+ years ago.

“I really like how this project turned out.”

Do you think that might be considered an understatement ?

for just one piece of furniture, there are way too many things to look at. Well done !!

Very good looking desk there! I love the style of it, and especially that live-edge slab! It must be a joy to work at that desk every day!

Very nice desk!

But what is that strange contraption sitting on top of it? :)

That’s good to know! This is actually only on loan from my Aunt just for this photo shoot. I’ll let her know though as it was her Father’s and has a lot of sentimental value.
