Sliding Compound Miter Saw Station

Project by DustyDave posted 839 days ago 1037 views 2 times favorited 8 comments Add to Favorites Watch

My wife and I love doing our own home improvements. Last year for Mother’s Day she said she wanted a Sliding Compound Mitre Saw. Who am I to argue! I am finishing up the work station for the SCMS. It all started with a couple of solid core doors a friend gave me. Have a look. It provides a nice support table in line with the saw and storage for cutoffs.

I forgot to mention that the plans for this station came from ShopNotes #82.

Very nice. My chop saw is still on an old printer stand with wheels. And a wife that buys tools for you? What else could a man want :) I have to get a new (w)life <giggle>

Yeah I agree with John nice choice in saws, but better choice in the wife. Too bad she’s taken I’d ask her for a date. I’ve been meaning to build one of these and was going to order the plans from New Yankee. Didn’t realize SN had plans, gotta check my Shop Notes see if I have #82. Check Kreg product line they make a nice fence at a reasonable price for chop saw stations.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

DocK16 – The ShopNotes plans have a fence I just finished glueing it up. It is pretty nice—extends to EIGHT FEET!! I’ll post some pics when complete.
