Simple little project – a holder for my electronic Yahtzee game. I submit this more for the interesting grain pattern than because of anything special regarding the project. Made of 1/4” American Elm, rabbet joints. Finish is a coat of wiped-on MinWax cherry stain, three coats of gloss Arm-R-Seal and a final coat of satin Arm-R-Seal.
Looking at the finished product, I think that if I were make another one, I would round the top corners, maybe a 3/4” or 1” radius just to give it a better look. I love the grain pattern that appeared when the stain hit the wood – it wasn’t at all apparent before then.

I was really surprised – I wiped on the stain and said Wow!!! Surprises like that are good! Much better than wiping on the stain and going, “Oh crap!”.

It’s a shame to put something that nice next to the toilet paper. At least that is where I keep my electronic Yahtzee game. My high score is 587. First 4 rolls were Yahtzees. What’s yours?

626. And yes, that’s where I keep mine, too. Can’t be aberrant behavior if both of us do it, right? I think it is a “man” thing!

Aw! You’ve got me beat. What else is there to do except the obvious. Kind of boring just sitting there.
