My wife needed somewhere to put here glasses at night so i saw a woodworking oppurtunity. The box is just the right size for these glasses, a custom fit. The lid and some of the miter splines are bubinga. The rest of the splines are yellowheart. The sides are bloodwood and the bottom is zebrawood. The finish is gloss polyurethane with tung oil on the inside just to make finishing the inside easier.
The bottom is mitered as are the bottom of the sides. It was weird making it this way and im not sure i would recommend it, not for a box this small anyway, the bottom was put in after the sides were glued together and i actually had to cut it a little off square to get it to fit right. If there was any gap on the bottom it messed up the whole fit but eventually i got it right. Thanks for viewing, Andy.
