I was given a couple pieces of scrap Corian to try and make pens from.
As you can see, I was was able to make a set that looks pretty cool. The Corian is grey with black and white specks. I used basic black enamel Slimline kits. I didn’t want to get too ornate considering the beauty of the polished corian. Gentle curves seemed to work best here.
I finished these using progressively finer wet sanding sponges and topping it off with ONESTEP finishing polish.

The Corian was much easier than I thought it would be. I ended up turing it a little slower than normal and made sure I used a very sharp skew. My tail stock’s live center doesn’t quite fit my pen mandrel and there was a bit of “chatter”. It was easy to clean up using some sandpaper.
I definately would do another set in Corian.

Very nice looking. I just finished checking the other pens you’ve posted so far and they’re all very nice. I’ve been using the PSI for my pens as well. It’s simple to order on line and get to turning when the stuff comes in.
