I made this ring box for a soon to be engagement ring. I made it out of scrap Padauk I had from a previous project.

Padouk is one of my favorites and it looks great as a ring box. I really like the idea of the insert with the padding for the ring.

I hope she says yes.

Yeah I love working with it too. Its makes more of a mess than other woods but it has a great vibrant color to it. I used a piece of foam from one of my pelican cases and just cut it to size. I hope so too!

Great looking ring box—and good luck on getting a “Yes!”

Skidoo, a belated welcome to Lumber Jocks. What a nice project. It looks like a work of love. Hope all goes well. This has nice wood grain, an interesting shape, and I like the sentiment. The “feet” look like an especially well done feature. Keep boxing and keep posting.

I hope she will love it as rock that will be in it.

It’s a beautiful ring box. What are the dimensions.

The top is 2 3/8” long X 2” wide X 1 3/4” tall and 1 5/8” deep

And the bottom is 2” long X 1 5/8” wide X 1” high, and the inside is 1 3/8” long X 1” wide and 5/8” deep.

each piece is a about 1/4” thick. I used scraps so the top and bottom and a little different thicknesses. I didn’t measure, but just fit everything so if fit snug and cut where I needed. I like doing project where i Just go by eye. And i still need to smooth out the top in a few spots.

Very nice box. Ive only used paduak once, and I’m not a fan yet.It bleeds to much into other woods. Maybe I just beed to learn how to work with it, which is likely the best solutions.
