This is my latest – and largest – project… my family and I recently renovated the basement and I was lucky enough to have my dream wet bar sanctioned by the finance committee ;-)
It started last fall as a rough sketch on a piece of 3/4 ply and has already served us well for a half a dozen holidays and a super bowl party … the cabinets behind the bar are custom (some store bought items – doors, trim) and the top is going to be travertine (tiles left over from a bathroom renovation at our last house)
Overall it’s about 8ft from side to side, about 4ft from the front to farthest point back (the ‘L’) and around 44” high… I’m planning on hiding some lights (probably rope lights) under the bar rail and hooking them up to a dimmer as an accent

It came out really nice! Looks like red oak and cherry ply panels? I like the contrast a lot, whatever it is!

All – thanks for the feedback, I can hardly wait to get this done and really put it to some use!
Dorje – the contrast was an accident … they panels are actually Oak (as is the rest of the facade) the difference is that I did a better job of mixing the stain after I had applied it to the panels so they came out lighter .. one of those times where things worked out for the better I guess as I really like the contrast as well

Dan, really nice! I wish I had space for something like this. I like it’s look.
