This is a great cutting board. Light years beyond what I can do. I would not even know how to start something like this. Would love to see a blog on this sometime. Now I will crawl into the fetal position and pout….. Alas….....

This is a nice board and I enjoyed seeing this design. I have to agree this is almost too pretty to use.

Superb! I love the colors and design. I am going to have to try to make one of these one of these years when I think I have the skill. Lets see, that would be…....never! I don’t think I could use it though….too nice. Impressive craftsmanship. I bow low to your work.

Neat! How many different stages of glue-up do you do?

Kate I glue it together in two stages. First I glue 153 pieces into 9. Then run them through the planer. Next I rip each piece 6 times except for the middle strip which only needs to be done 3 times. Glue them all up once more and you are left with 3 boards. Actually am in the process of making 2 more designs like this right now, 300 pieces at once. Once they are all ripped I’ll take pictures of each satge.

Hey that looks familiar. Looks like you done good. I have found that alignment and even clamping pressure is key in making these boards.

Kram79 – these are unbelieveable. I was looking for something unique to make my family, but I’m pretty sure I’d mess this up a few times before I got one to lookin right. If you do have time to post some more pics, it appears that several folks would like to see them. THANKS!
