Now that fall is here and the yard work has slowed down, I have been able to get back in the shop and finish up the Christmas presents. As you can see all of the ladies in the family are getting cutting boards. Now the hard part will be deciding who gets what, since I am constitutionaly unable to do the same thing twice in a row.
The end grain boards are a combination of ash and beech. The grain in the board creates an optical illusion making the lines look wavy. The small board is made from the scrap from the larger board and it floats in the frame. It is intended to be used as a bar board to help create the perfect gin and tonic.

Nice group of unique boards. I find it fun to see how they turn out when I work without a strict plan—and each seems to result in an idea I want to try on the next one. Glad to see you’re having fun.

Nice, I really like the one with the 45’d corners and edges! I’m making more for some ladies in the neighborhood. I thought I priced them high enough no one want them, I was wrong. Not complaining though I’m buying a new bandsaw with the money!
