Birthday present for a good friend ,made out of Cherry and walnut . Lee valley clock face and movements and home made access hinge . (skill building experiment) at the back. Finished with 2 coats of oil and a top coat of lacquer.

Nice job, I am sure she’ll like it. I have been meaning to build one in a similiar fashion. I have not tried a wooden hinge yet. I’ve been lazy about that.
