Lisa, I just go to my wood pile behind the garage. :) I’ve had great luck in spalting my own wood. Some just sits there some I help along with leaves, beer, and other things. I’m finishing up a page on my website dedicated to spalting wood be careful because the fungus in spalted wood can be down right nasty stuff.
