Commissioned Desk
Zebra wood veneer. Top is 1” plywood. Edges are 2 layers of 1” x 3” stacked up to make overall thickness 3”.
Light color stain (mineral spirits, blo, tint), finished with pre-cat lacquer.
Bottom of desk is finished as well because you can see it from downstairs.
The drawer divider insert is removable as per client’s request. I normally make them fixed.
A 1/4” glass top (pattern cut) with a beveled edge was added afterward. I’m not a big fan of glass tops, but client wanted it.

Leave it to a client to mess up perfection :-)
That’s a stunning desk. You did an amazing job of finding balance between simple, clean lines, elegant, and … “imposing—” that sense of executive power.
Really, really nice!

Very nice Bentlyj – How are the legs constructed and attatched? Is the bottom a cavity inside of the 1×3 edges?
I bet your client was thrilled.

Thanks to ALL of you.
Choppertoo,
Easier to just show you than try to explain it, besides I always like to practice sketchup. :)
Yes, it is a cavity underneath,
