I was brand new to LJs when I first posted this project, and … since it wasn’t finished … it should have been a blog.
It’s finished, now, though :-)
3/4 baltic birch ply. Pocket screws. Dado’s into the back panel. A couple coats of MinWax stain. A couple coats of clear polyurethane. A couple coats of Johnson’s Paste Wax.
A few baskets. A few pillows. SWMBO’s Ugg Boots … and that’s that :-)

Looks good to me.
Do the baskets scratch the finish?

John: not so far.
The basic surfaces have two coats of paste wax. The surfaces under the baskets have a third (I wondered the same thing).
I’ll have to keep track of that, though….
