I made this out of cherry plywood and solid wood, with walnut trim. The inside of the box and the drawer bottom is veneered with aromatic cedar (smells really nice!). The box is joined by biscuits, and the corner pieces are walnut with cherry plugs. The top is cherry plywood with a walnut trim with solid cherry rails. This project was made for a friend.

Very Nice! I like the combination of species and the overall design. Surely, your friend will cherish this always.

Those hinges look cool. Very clean appearance. The drawer adds versatility to the design. The grain is not overwhelming and complements the whole look. Very nice work.

Great job!! Did you use thin commercial veener or cut your own?

Gorgeous! I can almost smell the cedar from here. I love all the design details. Thanks for posting.
