Got the idea from a couple of people’s here on LJ. It’s pine stained with red mahogany and put some wipe on poly over it. has room for 15 tools. Bought 3 new Henry Taylor Kryo tools too not pictured but i’ll post them when I get my DVR XP set up. The stain isn’t splotchy it is just the angle of the picture!!! the messy picture is the before. The board underneath is for tools to hang once I figure out the spacing.

Nice job, looks a little high, can you reach easily enough? ( i’m assuming the lathe is usually on the table underneath the rack?)

Nice design and finish, CD. What tools are going to be hung? Interested in hearing your thoughts on the Henry Taylor Kryo tools. I’d not heard of them before. Good to see you posting. Hope school is going well. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to see you back here, posting your nice projects. It does look like it’s mounted a bit high, but I’m equally sure that you took that into account for you to get to the tools.

I lowered it 6 inches so it sits just right, yes you guys were right. I ordered 2 thompson bowl gouges yesterday, a 3/8 V and a 5/8 V. I have a 1/2” henry taylor kryo and a 1/2” benjamins best that i’ve been practicing with before I use my good tools. I am trying to figure out which grind works best for me at the moment. I used a 45 degree irish grind for a while and just yesterday I switched to a 60 degree fingernail but it’s a very different bear so we will see.
