Walnut Headboard

This is a headboard that is going to be used as a stand alone accent piece, attached to the bed frame and up against a wall. Unfortunately did not get a picture of the completed headboard after it was installed. The project was a piece of 8/4 walnut that was book matched. Joints are mortise and tenon. One tenon is fixed and the other is a floating allowing for seasonal movement. The holes were then covered with a faux square peg (not pictured) The legs are not shown in the picture but are a 4 sided pencil post taper approx 6 ft tall. The piece was finished with a french polished shellac.
