This is my very first turned Table/Bedside Lamp.

It’s made in 4 sections: The main body is made from 2 “Bowl Blanks” that I cut from the same length of Sapele, and the Foot & Crown sections also came from the same said piece.

The “Stone Effect” that hides the join in the body, is actually a Spray Paint that can be bought from one of our best known DIY stores here in the UK, and is then sprayed over with Acrylic Lacquer. This helps both to strengthen the stone effect paint, and also provides a nice gloss finish to the final piece, that had all been sealed with Cellulose Sanding Sealer prior to adding the Stone Effect.

Cool Keith.

That “Stone effect” is really effective.
Thanks for sharing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
