This is a custom design I use to build. I really like it because it is very solid. The legs fasten to the skirt and the “L” design makes for a very stable base. I made these out of red oak since I liked the way it looked. I also wrapped the table in red oak for more stability. The top is 1 1/2” thick mdf with an acrylic insert. The fence is my own custom design. I decided not to go with metal. I used confirmat screws from McFeely’s to join the mdf together and reinforced it with glue. It has never gone out of 90 degrees. I also put on a couple of bit holders on the back side of the fence. I figured this was wasted space, so why not. Both sizes of 1/4” and 1/2” to handle all my router bits. And if your wondering about the blue laminate, why not? Who says all router tables have to be white?

Love the blue! I wish I could find some blue laminate that they didn’t want and arm and both legs for. Did I say that I loved the blue?
Nicely done.

Nice table Ken. I especially like your idea with the bit holders behind the fence. Looks real convenient. Also I really like that blue color. It has a very calming effect. A good thing when you’re working with a screaming router!

the bit holders on the fence is a great idea. it would look much better in Hoosier red, but the blue is a nice touch, too!

I like the blue, it would be excellent for brand recognition if you decided to make them up for sale. Porter cable-delta grey/ power matic gold/ oops kreg blue.

Ken, I like the looks of this router table. It has a nice design to it, plenty of working space and keeping your bits at the table is a good idea.

Nice job! I have an extension table on my table saw with a Jessem lift in it, and I have been looking for a good functional design that I could use to replace the table portion (melamine over MDF is starting to come apart). You have a lot of great ideas built into your table, and with a few modifications for mounting to the saw, I think I can incorporate them into my design. Thanks for provoking the thoughts, and keep up the good work.

The more that I’ve looked at this table, the more I like it! It looks like a very practical, yet attractive, RT. I’m currently building a beast of a RT but will want a second table to replace the current less than professional, Craftsman Professional Router Table that I have. Your table seems like it would fit the bill just fine for my purposes, especially with an added enclosed chamber for the router.
Thanks again for posting this one.
