Found “one board planter” plans and made this with some old fence boards. Ran them through my planer to get most of the weathering off and finished with clear deck stain. Going to tweak the plans a bit when I start tearing out the old fence this year.

Funny but I was just talking to the wife about doing something just like this!

She was mentioning redwood, but cedar fence boards seem more economical.

If you don’t mind, can you share the plans you used for this project?

Thanks,
Mordi

I found the plans here: http://www.thekimsixfix.com/2015/07/zero-scrap-planter-box-from-single-board.html

After building it: the handle boards need to be bigger than the plans to fit better. The vertical bits that look like legs…well they “kinda” work but mine ended up resting on the bottom supports…which could’ve been a bit wider as well. I was using boards from a fence I took down so my materials weren’t as wide as a pine board. Overall it’s a pretty nice box and considering something similar at HD would be $70 it will work. Once we get to removing more of the fence I’ll make a few more in different sizes.

Thanks for the link – the wife likes it, so that is a winner for me!
