Chest on Stand

I’ve always wanted to try a Krenov-style chest-on-stand so took the opportunity to build one for my wife. Built of cherry, maple, and white oak with wenge accents. The carcass sides and back are QS white oak veneer, all the drawers are maple. Finished with a BLO first coat followed by four coats of varnish then wax. Biggest pain was to get the drawers to fit correctly and to get the doors mounted right. Those knife hinges are not very forgiving.

Comments and critiques are welcome -

Cheers,
Matt

That chest is beautiful. Proportions are perfect, material choice and finish look great. I can’t wait to see this on a full screen.
