One afternoon my daughter arrived with a small table she had purchased for her college apartment. She wanted to “re-purpose/re-design” it to match her style in her new apartment. The idea was to simply repaint and make the top look rustic. Turns out the table had a plastic finish that would not take new paint. So, I told her I would build her one. She gave me a rough plan and I made this table from scrap pine and mdf.
The top is made of an old 2×4. is was planed to approx. 2” thick and then ripped to 1/8” thick strips. I had a large amount of these in the shop from a previous project.
It is based on a design my daughter found from Ana White.
