What was a plain white wall is now the center piece of our living room. Meet our custom built mantle / surround. The crowning piece is the solid, and very heavy, piece of 2.25”x13.25”x114” red oak. This massive chunk of wood adorns our gas fireplace surround. Built entirely out of red oak and designed my my husband, Kevin.

Looking good Missy. Tell Kevin he did a great job.

Really nice – makes you want to snuggle up with a good book and cozy fire.

I like this very much. Looks like a lot of work went into the detail of the moulding.

Wow! This is very nice – a monument of Kevin’s ability to design and craft wood.

Thanks ya’ll!
It certainly is a nice place to cozy up to. The ventless gas fireplace warms up the entire house in a matter of 30 minutes! We love it!

Great idea! Made something beautiful from something ordinary.
