I decided to build a kleenex box for an upcoming show. This is the second one, the first is at a little store nearby on consignment.
I decided to keep it as plain as what I thought a kleenex box might be so as the pictures show, it’s just one walnut board that happen to be wormy and I got lucky with a near perfect wrap. Believe me when I say it was an accident that it came so close.
The lid is walnut as are the inside supports for the lid and the kleenex box. The only reason for the lid supports are because I used 1/2” magnets to hold the lid in place and the side walls are only 5/8” thick. The lid is the same thickness but the magnets are only 1/4” thick so it worked out well.
The kleenex box sits on a walnut shelf that is set in a rabbit on each end allowing 1 5/8” between the floor and the botton of the shelf.
I measured a couple different items for storage under the kleenex box and it seems that most any item on a 1911 frame will fit quite nicely on the blue felt I placed on the floor.
Forgot to mention – I installed bkp cut-offs , 3 on each corner and one on each corner of the lid.
Thanks for looking -

Nice box all around, wood is fantastic, details with the splines are great, this should make the new owner happy.

I’ll skip with any humorous comments about “blowing your nose off.”

Well, the box is all of 5 hours old and it does have a new owner. My wife and I met a lady at an Amish family style dinner last Friday and she wanted to see some of my ‘stuff’
I went to her Llama clothing store today and took 4 bowls, a wine rack and the tissue box. I came home with 1 bowl, 2 Llama rugs and $40
She said her husband is going to be real happy

Dick that is an awesome idea. I can only imagine how handy that would be with all the home invasion reports you hear about these days. I impressed with the box build, but that 1911 REALLY impresses me, beautiful gun.

Bill, wish I could take credit – poospleasures ( Vernon in Kentucky) gave me the idea and sent me pics of his which is a WHOLE lot nicer to copy. Well, I whimped out and made a poor mans tissue box and sold it immediately.

I’ve never seen a better kleenex box than this one. Gr8 place for a pistol.
