Hi all,
This is my best attempt at design and execution since I got into this lunacy! The timber is mahoghany throughout. The upholstery is all genuine leather it even has 1or2 imperfections of the hide visible which I like.
All the tenons are handcut. I designed this project from scratch and tweaked it as I went. The stretcher rails, which curve in 2 different directions at once are probably my favourite features.
The chair is very comfortable as i designed the seating position by tracing the curvature of my own spine onto a template so the backrest matches my back perfectly! Lots of others have tried it and found it very comfortable also.
I used top class cushion foam and it takes the shape of the person sitting on it.
I hope all the work was worth it. I just thought I’d share it with others who might appreciateit. Thanks for looking, any comments, feedback or pointers welcome.

Very nice work, chairs aren’t easy, especially when you design them yourself, great work!

excellent design and execution… shouldn’t you have a matched set of six to go with a matching dining room table? Obviously you have the talent for such an undertaking.
