This pair of andirondack chairs were made out of western red cedar. Definitely a fun project for the girlfriend and I. They were coated with outdoor oil and boy are they comfy!

I appreciate it. Do you have any advice on outdoor finish. I decided to go with general finishes outdoor oil. I plan on recoating once or twice a year. So far its holding up really well. They have been outdoors since last spring.

Great looking pair of Adirondacks! The look very comfortable, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them for years!

As for finish, I’ve used Penofin in the past (oil finish with UV inhibiters), but last year, I used a spar varnish/Penofin mix that seems to be holding up well. Use 8oz of spar varnish per 1 gallon of the Penofin.
