This was a project I worked on this summer. It is a reference desk for a somewhat local library. The larger paneled portion is an old door from the library. I had to reproduce the smaller paneled portion. The tops are out of alder and the rest is soft maple. The design was created by the library staff and this piece was made to match their check-in counter; well except for the tops which were just Formica and didn’t last long. The whole project took 8 weeks which included stripping and fixing the old door. The smaller panel opens to hold the network switch and other cables for the computers. The narrow top opens up for cable management for the end computer which is their card catalog computer.
(Better pictures to come when the professional gets them to me)
