I had a day off today and have been wanting to add a handle to my No. 6 that I use as my shooting plane. So here is the result. As usual only hand tools so I was happy to finish in one day. It is 4 pieces laminated, scraps of ash and maple. I carved the handle out of white oak to model my Stanley handle and give me some more comfort when shooting. It locks in surprisingly tight and is very comfortable. Going to add some poly to protect it in the shop. I based the design off Barry’s woodwork design but added the mortised Stanley handle rather than a straight pipe handle.

Great Idea, much better than drilling holes into the plane
