This a case to hold my other PC Tower. It is now on the other side of my computer desk. I made it to match (mostly) one I already had made. I used my dado set for the dado and the result is close enough for me. I need to work on fine tuning my dado skills. Not bad for my 2nd attempt at dados. I used pocket hole joinery to put it together. It only took me a few hours to build this from concept to final project. I have also crossed a few more items off my “honey-do-list”. Will post pics tomorrow.

That’s an interesting dado joint. I think normally it would be symmetrically, i.e., have a shoulder above as well as below the dado. You could have also dado-ed the top and bottom for more dadoing practice. (I have to admit that I’ve lately been using pocket hole joinery anywhere it can be concealed.)

I am starting to use pocket hole joinery more too. I didn’t think about dadoing the top and bottom. This dado was simpler for me to do and made it easy to slide the shelf in place. I still need more practice with the dado’s. In looking at it now you are right. I could have run a rabbit on the top and bottom.

Cool center dado, Rick.
I like the open back design- so much easier to get to all of the connections/ports/wires.
