Hello there wood workers, here are some things I finnish over the weekend
1)vessel in Estoraque end grain 8×6”laquer finnish
2)vessel in Catahua side grain 11×4” laquer finnish
3)Two boxes in Estoraque end grain 4×6 laquer finnish
the grain of this wood is amazing, anyway you turn it will come out great, catahua on the other hand is pretty if got some spalting, turning this woods is a treat,Estoraque,is hard and heavy, catahua is medium hard but side grain coud be a hassle, some times when finishing, but over all quite docile

Some beautiful turnings….the Estoraque is exquisite…does it have another name – I don’t recall that name?
All of them turned out amazing….great job…
Nothing better than a great blank…the lathe turning smoothly…and the nice stips of sawdust flowing off the gouge…

Another fantastic group of turnings. That Estoraque has a fantastic grain pattern to it and you allways pick great form to bring it out. Outstanding job.
Keep up the wonderfull work.

Beautiful pieces. I love the deep reds in the Estoraque. Do they export this to the USA?

Some beautiful woods you have there. You also did a great modification to the blanks.
