On my last post there was some interest generated in my jointer. So, I shot some pics at 7 AM this Sunday morning of some fletches I did for a couple of university students. I got a call after hours last night asking if I had any way of taking the twist out of some of their 12’ specimen boards. I said sure, bring them down. Some of the boards were badly twisted, so I established the reference points by hand, then let the powerfeeder do the rest. The last pic shows 2 happy kids, my pleasure, no charge.

Beautiful Joiner there Socal, I tend to believe that performing a neighborly good deed like that will influence those young men to treat folks the same way.

Impressive heavy duty machines and impressive lack of greed. I hope those kids will carry the spirit forward.

Jim, it is an SCM 20” jointer. Everybody else, thanks for the comments and we would love to have some woodworking neighbors! I have had quite a few LJ members up here at the ranch and am always happy to do custom sawmilling, resawing, etc. and try to set a good example, especially for the younger ones.
We have consistently supported 2 of the local high school industrial arts programs in several ways and I really think it is a good thing. I have been blessed with a lot of good wood and good fortune in this business ,and for me it’s not just about the money-

Wow, that is not a jointer it is an aircraft carrier. Rob, I am sure most of us would love to have one of these in our shops.

It’s wonderful what you are doing for the schools. High school woodshop’s of today are not like they used to be. Without contributer’s like you they waont survive long.
