This is my first try at making a wooden nut and bolt. The nut is walnut with a bit of sapwood. The bolt with threads is a black and red birch laminate, and the bolt head is a Red, White, and Blue laminate. I had to buy a wood threader, and give it a try. Not sure what else I can make with it that would sell, but it is great fun. It is a 1 inch threader. Had to sand the threads a bit to get it to smoothly work. It is a great stress reliever and gets people talking. Finished this with a clear conversion varnish, very smooth! The hardest part was making the walnut nut. Trying to figure out what a nut on a bold that size would look like…....

You should see the wrenches! Reminds me of “Uncle Buck” making pancakes for niece and nephew.
