Our Secretary, Vicky, is retiring in a few weeks. She lives just down the street from this building. Coming from lunch a few months ago I spied some wood on the side of the road for free. I grabbed a half dozen pieces and later found out it was a beech tre that had been cut down. Since the wood came from her neighborhood I though I would make her a bowl from it. This is the biggest one that I have done yet and has some of the prettiest grain patterns I have ever seen. The bowl is 8 1/2 inches high and 9 inches around.

Great job…beautiful grain….gotta love those folks that leave us nice stuff on the side of the road….and what a great use….Very nice gift as I am sure you will miss her terribly (I don’t know what we will do when our office manager retires – she gets the stuff done around there).
