This project took me just over a year to complete, For some reason I kept getting distracted and working on other small projects.

The wait was however worth it. This is a puzzle table I built for my wife. She like building disney puzzles and wanted a dedicated table for this purpose.

The table itself is portable. The top simply lifts off the legs and the legs fold up allowing it to be move or stored in a closet. It has 4 drawers, each drawer has a sliding lid so the pieces can be stored without spilling if the table is moved or stored.

The Table is made from highly figured black walnut. The main table frame is finger jointed with a highly figured piece of black walnut for the front facing edge. The top of the table was a single piece of curly black walnut that was 13” wide. I re-sawed the piece and laid it open in a book match pattern to create the top and to maximize my use of the curly grain in the this piece of walnut.

The finish is Amber Shellac

Very nice! That is a beautiful book match for the top, I thought the 10-325 only went to 12”?
So how did the landscaping go this summer? Workshop all set up? Still might get out there some day!

It just barely squeezed this piece through. I have the workspace mostly set up. We got a fence and grass in this year, but no shed yet so one wall of the garage is still covered in things that shouldn’t be there
