I took 2×4’s cut to 4 foot sections & mounted them onto the wall using 6in lag bolts & bolted them to the existing studs in the wall. Than built my racks to mount onto the studs on the wall. Used 2×4’s, 1/2in plywood, glue, & 1in screws to sandwich the 2x’s. Than mounted them onto the studs. Stacked my lumber that’s been living on the floor for the past 2 years. I’m slowly expanding my shop to the next room in my attic where my lumber rack is. Next project is getting that room equipped with some electrical out lets and some over head lights.

Looks like a great organized wood rack, I sure hate digging through piles of wood to find the board I want is on the bottom.

Good looking rack, my man….It should serve you well on your trip to the woodworking experience…Stellar job….I see you’re from Fall River, Ma….I just got through watching a 10 part series on Lizzie Bordon….Supposedly she killed her father and stepmother with an axe back in the late 1800’s….She lived in Fall River, Ma, along with her sister, Emma….Interesting, that in this series, she killed over 13 people…

Yeah Rick Dennington her house is about 20minute walking distance & like 5min drive from my house here in the city. That place got voted one year the number one scariest place in the US. It’s currently a Bed & breakfast but you won’t catch my butt there EVER for sleep or for breakfast.

I’ve been wood working for a few years now but the past 2-3 years has been difficult since my little girl was just an infant. With her now turning 4 soon it’s gotten a lot easier for me to escape to the confines of my sanctity of my shop…lol. I’ve tried to get my 12 year old son interested in it but the video games consume his time. When I was his age I was reading Motor Trend & watching Norm Abrams on PBS. lol. Hopefully he comes around so I can teach him the basics of being able to work with your hands & being handy like my father taught me.
