I made this as a commission for some good friends of my wife and I. My friend likes this type of furniture and sent me a few pictures from around the web. Most of the pictures were pocket hole construction so I modified a set of plans from Ana White to be a little stronger. I have nothing against pocket holes I just wanted to use different joinery for this project. Also I used 2x lumber instead of the 1x used in the plans I found. I found that the stand looked flimsy with 1x boards compared the the 2x.The construction is dados and rabbets that I pinned with dowels for extra strength. The legs and shelves are solid fir and pine with the top shelf being made of pine plywood that I had left from another build. I stained it with dark walnut and added 3 coats of poly. Overall it is 3’ W x 4’ T x 1’ W.
