I picked this this project from the 2009 May/June issue of Canadian Home Workshop Magazine.
It is made from two cedar 5/4 X 6” X 10’ deck boards. I selected it because it gave me the opportunity to work with my planner and jointer. It is not a difficult project to realize. However,I did find working with wood as soft as cedar can be a challenge not to leave nicks and marks.
I finished the project with two coats of tung oil. Why tung oil? Because that’s what I had on hand. Came out nice.
