Braswell Mantle

Project by Michael Brailsford posted 48 days ago 279 views 0 times favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites Watch

My latest project was a mantle for a local couple. What she had to start with was a boring brick fireplace. I used comercially available carved posts. This is my first project in quite a while due to back issues.

Very nice work as usual, Michael.

I hope she plans to hang a flat screen or a large painting over the fireplace. To my eye, it looks rather naked up there.

Michael, Great job. I like how you solved the problem of the flair of Crown molding when used on a mantle. I see you had width restrictions because of the existing cabinets and you did a great job making a design that worked so well. Very nice. My parents lived in Clayton for over twenty years and I lived in Creedmoor for 25 years before moving to the coast. Know the area well.
