This is my first major wood working project. The wife wanted a new dresser so i told her I’d build her one. It took me about twice as long as I thought it would. I didn’t follow any plans, which made it a lot harder. It is solid cherry with plywood drawers. With the help of some fellow lumberjacks, I decided to use 2 coats of BLO. Let it dry for about a week. Quick wipe with mineral spirits to remove any excess oil. Then I sprayed 3 coats of minwax polycrylic with the purple $10 HF HVLP. HF has redesigned this gun and it is actually a “low pressure” gun unlike the previous models. My “shop” is a 1 car garage so space is extremely limited. I live in central NY so I couldn’t spray outside. I decided to build a spray booth in my garage using $4 worth of Dollar Store drop clothes and a 8’x8’ pop up tent. I had to push all my equipment to one side and managed to have enough room.

Looks very well done for a first project. I’m sure your wife is happy. Now she’ll start “the list”

Very nice chest of drawers. You will have fun building her the rest of the furniture to match.

Very well done Scott, be sure to put a refresher pic up in a few years as the cherry ages it’s amazing how it ages!
