Lidded Box...second attempt

We lost some limbs off a tree in the back yard and being a woodcarver of sorts I saved some pieces for a wood spirit or two. Years past and the spousal unit gave me a lathe last Christmas and since then I have been trying to learn the skills. Here is my second attempt at a lidded box (we won’t talk about the first one). It was rather plain so I decided to try my skills at wood burning. It still looked a bit plain so I added some acrylic wash to give it some color. The wood is …Holly. This is my first post.
