Glue laminated clock

Project by pinkfish posted 50 days ago 364 views 0 times favorited 7 comments Add to Favorites Watch

A clock I laminated up from some sheets of cherry veneer and two pieces of curly maple veneer on the outside. Turned out quite nice. The base I made form maple with a strip of purple heart down the middle. The shape of the base worked out less than perfect but the clock itself looks really nice.

I used a 3/16” brass rod to made the stand.

Nice clean, unique design and I really like the finish. What is the height of the clock? Thanks for posting.

Very nicely done! Very professional looking photos too. I really like it when someone takes the time to photograph their work nicely.

Did you use a vacuum press for gluing up the laminates?

Great job!!

I just used a mold from a 2×4 I cut on a band saw with cork inside and some g-clamps.

The clock is about 8 inches high, so not huge. It does look nifty though.
