I just completed two of these end tables (eventually they’ll be part of a bedroom set, but for now they are being used in the living room). They’re made out of mostly maple, with cherry edge trim and cherry drawer faces. I was originally going to use edge glued maple for the top, but given the fact that the humidity changes dramatically in my area, I decided to go with maple ply to help with wood movement. Finish is three coats clear shellac, followed by paste wax. Thanks for looking!

very nice I have been thinking about making a very similar thing since seing a plan for a similar end table online. I love the look of cherry and maple together.
