So I was looking through my projects after I posted the dresser and realized I never posted my Shoe Rack 2.0 that I finished this past summer. My mother-in-law liked the first one that I made for my wife and wanted one made for her parents. She said she didn’t care what wood I used, just that she wanted a similar design. So I got to play around a bit on this one.
I LOVE to mix wood types in projects, and I cannot get away from walnut. It adds so much depth and contrast that I just have to have it in my pieces. The construction of this was almost identical to my first one, I just added a lot more contrasting pieces here and there. Woods are hickory and walnut. Mortise and tenon, splined miters, and tongue and groove joinery. High gloss exterior grade polyurethane for the finish.
Hope you all enjoy, thanks for looking!
