I made this case about a year ago now, Dan Aykroyd came out with a new line of his own chardonnay and I had it signed by him when he came to town. Admittedly I bought two bottles, as there is only one in the picture I’m thinking you can all guess what happened to the other haha. The box is made of squares of pine glued together and then the inside was cut out using a bandsaw and then a piece of 1/4” plexi for the front. I topped it off with a coat of minwax stain and then the usual three coats of polyurethane.

Interesting and different project, and a great keepsake.

Great idea for the use of scrap wood … we could probably make a thousand of those with what we end up burning every year. Wish we could find more people to take our scraps for projects like this … I keep threatening to do so but never have the time.
